LightWerks Integrates Hybrid Learning Solutions into Classrooms
COVID-19 caught our education system, as well as the entire world, off guard. The pandemic forced schools around the country to close their doors with very little time to prepare for remote learning models. Some educational institutions are beginning to open their doors to in-person learning, while others continue to remain physically closed.
Alternatively, some schools have adopted a hybrid learning model. The idea of hybrid education emerged this summer out of the deep frustration felt by many educators, students and parents concerning all-remote instruction in the early days of the pandemic. The solution reduces the amount of students in the classroom by having a portion of learners participating remotely, while others attend class in-person. LightWerks has partnered with several schools to assist with this this hybrid mixture of online and in-school learning. We have developed expertise in enhancing the experience for both educators and students through the integration of high quality collaboration tools. LightWerks has partnered with an elite independent school in Los Angeles concerning hybrid learning. LightWerks integrated mobile Zoom Room units into 50 classrooms. The units include cameras, sound bars with microphones, Mac Minis, and displays.
The plan is to have half of the students in physical classrooms while simultaneously broadcasting and collaborating with remote students. The carts will be placed next to instructors, facing the in-person students so that classmates can see one another, and cameras will be integrated behind the in-person-students so that students at home are able to view their instructor.
