Conferencing and collaboration technology installed at USC
LightWerks partnered with the University of Southern California to add state-of-the-art conferencing and collaboration technology to the Viterbi School of Engineering. The project, which involved technology upgrades in both classrooms and conferencing spaces, adds to the many integrations LightWerks has completed throughout several years of partnership with the university.
Conference room upgrades included Zoom conferencing capability supported by Logitech Meetup webcam/microphone combinations, as well as Polycom speakerphone to table connectivity cubbies. Conferencing spaces also included the integration Screenbeam wireless connectivity appliances for laptops and smartphones to connect to LCD for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Presentations.
LightWerks designed the audio-visual systems in the classrooms at the Viterbi School of Engineering to support divide/combine scenarios in which spaces can operate independently or combined when a room divider is opened up into one larger room. Hybrid learning via Zoom conferencing is supported by Aver cameras and ClearOne ceiling microphone arrays. The solution also includes the integration of Shure wireless lapel microphones for instructors. The learning spaces also include Samsung LCDs and ScreenBeam collaboration and content sharing technology to support wireless content sharing of laptops and other mobile devices.
Classroom audio is supported by Crestron audio amplifiers and ceiling speakers, as well as Biamp digital signal processors/mixers for all microphones and computer sources. Crestron DMPS3 presentation switcher/control processors along with customized LCD touch panels make it simple for instructors to select sources and operate the technology in their classroom.
