San Diego State University’s Engineering and Interdisciplinary Sciences (EIS) Complex is a key piece in the school’s drive to become a top-50 public research university. Not only will it enhance the university’s current teaching and research capacities, it will also boost SDSU’s ability to attract the best and brightest researchers and graduate students. An important part of the EIS Complex is an integrated audio visual system design.
Based on an audio-visual design package put together by WaveGuide Consulting, LightWerks installed technology in a variety of conference room and lab spaces. There are four Small Conference Rooms with wall mounted LCD’s, Solstice POD wireless sharing devices, laptop connections, and a camera to support desktop video calling.
Six Large Conference rooms have 80” LCD’s, installed PC’s, wireless sharing devices, overhead document cameras, laptop connections and PTZ camera’s/ mics to support desktop video calling. There are various lab spaces with multiple displays to support instruction. All areas are equipped with Solstice POD wireless sharing devises and custom programmed Extron TouchLink control panels.The Incubator Space is a truly unique place with various areas of the room that can be used for small workgroups, but also has an overhead projector and large screen and an audio visual system installed to support more traditional style classroom groups.
