University of Idaho Boise Law updates multiple learning spaces
Located on Front Street in downtown Boise, and within walking distance of the Idaho State Capitol, Idaho Supreme Court, and Idaho State Bar, the College of Law Boise has emerged as one of the best educational values in the nation. The college’s success is built upon a steadfast belief that a law school should stand for serving the public, promoting civil discourse, contributing to the dialogue on critical issues, and providing access across all cultures and ideologies to the highest quality of legal education. LightWerks partnered with University of Idaho Boise Law to update multiple learning spaces, including lecture halls, classrooms, and seminar spaces, to Zoom capable flex learning environments with the latest digital A/V technology. The integration includes solutions that support interactive and collaborative learning experiences.
Displaying and capturing books and 3D objects is made simple through the integration of WolfVision V Solution Cam Document Cameras. These visualizers allow instructors to share physical content with students with amazing clarity. The content is displayed via multiple 85” 4K commercial grade SONY displays, which were installed in the front and back of the classrooms. Additionally, the learning spaces are equipped with AVER TR-311 tracking cameras. The cameras are mounted in the back of the rooms to pick up the instructor for soft codec ZOOM calls. Additional AVER PTZ310 were installed in the front of the rooms to capture the room/student view. The systems are simply controlled with Extron TLP Pro 725T touch panels, which were installed on the lecterns.
Classroom audio is supported by SHURE MXA-910 ceiling microphones. The array architecture of the solution allows for enhanced directional pickup and more natural speech so that students and instructors are clearly captured during hybrid ZOOM learning. Along with the classrooms’ ceiling speakers, LightWerks added an Assisted Listening Device to the system. The audio for the systems is routed through Extron digital signal processors and 2 channel amplifiers.
The hybrid learning enabled classrooms at University of Idaho Boise Law enable the school to best prepare and educate their diverse student body. LightWerks specializes in adapting teaching and learning environments to create flexible and dynamic learning spaces. Contact us to learn more.
