LightWerks Installs Audio Visual System in University Theater

theater AV

LightWerks collaborated with the general contractor 2H Construction to install a new, state-of-the-art digital audio and video system in the theater space of Cal State Dominguez Hills (CSDH). Founded in 1960, CSUDH is a public university that is part of the California State University system. With nearly 15,000 students, CSUDH is one of the nation’s most diverse and ethnically balanced campuses.

The multi-purpose performance hall at CSUDH is of limited dimensions, and LightWerks had to be creative with fitting equipment in the given space.

Above the stage, LightWerks installed a 298’’diagonal, micro perforated electric screen. Placed on the right, center, and left side behind the screen are JBL screen channel speakers and two wall recessed sub-woofers. 10 JBL surround speakers were installed on the right, left, and rear walls. The stage houses four floor pockets that are connected to a central control room. They are used for both presentation and full live audio production. Two cameras were installed on the ceiling, so that live events can be recorded on solid-state drives and later edited. They are equipped with two Extron Touch Panels that allow users to select between Theater Mode for screening movies, Simple Presentation Mode for an instructor to teach a class, or Full Production Mode for live events with video and audio recording.

To enable an environment where flourishing ideas can come to life, Lightwerks creates a versatile and reliable audio visual solution that suits your unique needs and space.
